I currently live in Austin, Texas where I continue to grow as an artist.  In the 1990s, I attended art school at the University of Louisville where I had the privilege to study with Lida Gordon, the head of the Fiber Art Department.  At that time, I was primarily working two dimensionally using fabric, acrylic paint, dye, and embroidery floss to create whimsical pieces.  After the birth of my first son, I stayed at home to raise my children, but continued to do some artwork by way of card making, and birthday party decorations.  Once my children were grown, I decided to take classes at The Contemporary where I’ve had excellent teachers including Jean Leider and Erin Schwinn.  Today, I’m still focused on two dimensional pieces, but primarily on paper rather than fabric.  I enjoy using mundane items like sand paper, duct tape, etc. in addition to prepared papers that I have painted.  Generally, I work abstractly, but I do enjoy drawing fauna and flora in colored pencil.

Currently in a Group Exhibit:  “Hope for Spring,” The Neill-Cochran House Museum, Austin, TX.
